If you are a registered centre for the GCSE in Applied ICT, you will have recently received a copy of the Timed Tasks CD-ROM for the current series.

Please note that the PASSWORD for accessing the Applied ICT Externally Set & Marked Timed Tasks for 2008 from the CD is available here. However, for security reasons the contents of this CD are NOT available for download from this website.

On inserting the disc a menu will appear. If your CD-ROM does not auto-run then click on the Start button and select Run. Type in ‘D:\autorun.exe’ (where D is your CD-ROM drive) and press enter. The CD will now run.

You should then see the general documentation as per your administrative notes and links to the documentation specific to the current Timed Tasks on the front menu.

When you click on the relevant link it will take you to the documentation or files. The Timed Tasks and the files to be used for the Timed Tasks are password protected. (Please see below for current passwords.)

To open a password protected document click on the relevant file. This will open a password prompt. Choose which folder you would like to save the file to (click on the button for your choice of folders), then type in the password and click on GO! The file will instantly save to your chosen folder. (Please note that you cannot save your opened file to the CD-ROM as it is Read Only.) Once you have opened and saved all of the files you need you are ready to test your students.
